I just bought a 67 malibu a guy started to do from frame up. It came with a 327, 4 speed muncie, and a 12 bolt rear end, i believe he said the ratio was 3.01:1 is this a good combination to have? This is my first big project, and I'm fairly new to all this. My last wasnt really a full restoration, just a 84 silverado i put a 350 in, and had a 700R4 transmission. This chevelle will be my first manual vehicle. Thanks for any ideas/help.

Congrats on the new car. 67's are one of the nicest looking car ever built. A 327 4-speed is a truely nice combo. You'll have a blast. The rear end is probably a 3.08:1 ratio. A bit tall in my opinion. A 327 isn't a real torquey engine but likes to rev. A ratio of about 3.42-3.55 would seem a better match to me. Might as well throw a posi in while you're at it, if it doesn't already have one. You'll want it later.
