: Called out by a Dodge Turbo Diesel
troutdog May 9th, 07, 11:57 PM My Bro-In-Law has a 2006 Dodge Turbo Diesel with the complete BullyDog Kit. He says he has nearly out run a Z06. I run between 12.6-12.9s. I will run him no matter what, but what you think. We will run on the track....
What you think he can run?
Gokou May 10th, 07, 12:06 AM So, did the Z06 know he was racing? Ain't gonna happen, not with a simple intake/programmer/exhaust. A Tripledog on the highest level with a full 5" turboback on an otherwise stock Cummins-motivated truck might get him down to the low 14's if he spools it up and launches in 4wd. I would expect the trap speed to be somewhere around 93-94mph, way off the pace of a Z06. I would also expect the truck to throw tranny slip codes with the programmer at the highest level unless he has had tranny upgrades performed.
A full bullydog kit on a 2006 won't smoke a Z06 in terms of ET/MPH-- but it will literally smoke one. LOL.
A friend has a 2002 Dodge with a large single turbo, nitrous, bigger intercooler, custom Arias pistons, headwork, triple-lock billet converter and lots of trans work, etc and etc and it usually runs about 12.0-12.1 @ 118-- hauling serious ass for a 4wd extended cab pickup! That would be about on par with a C5 Z06-- and that truck has a hell of a lot more work done to it. It eats transmissions on a semi-regular basis too between drag and pulling competitions. :p
dscabra May 10th, 07, 12:12 AM I'll bet he'll be in the 11-12 range with that setup if he has it tuned right and can keep the tires from spinning. I have a hard time keeping my 34-inch tall - 14-inch wide Goodyear MTR tires from smoking with my stock 6.0 turbo diesel. With the right kit, I can get over 500 horse power out of my motor with something in the range of 700-800 lb ft or torque!

troutdog May 10th, 07, 12:13 AM I didn't think so. Where he lives they only have 1\8 mile track. He says he runs 8.4s all day. What's that a 13.1 quarter mile? He's full of crap!! I can't wait,,,,
troutdog May 10th, 07, 12:14 AM I forgot he's running slicks at the track,,,,,

...and leave all your coolant on the ground. Gotta love the 6.0's and their need for more head bolts. My neighbor has been through 2 sets of headgaskets on his 6.0-- it would leave a trail of green everytime he'd get into it. I don't think it cared much for being doublestacked. :p Back to stock now and not a single problem. Another friend put a 150hp box (I think it was an ADS) on his 6.0 and same thing-- started pumping coolant out.
Be careful turning the wick up on the 6.0-- it can get expensive in a hurry! They do sound good though.

Amazing how good you can make these trucks run....Even smoke a viper..
_Bear_ May 10th, 07, 12:58 AM A buddy of mine in town here has the fastest common rail diesel in north America, his name is Mike Driever. He is running 10.2s with that truck. Of course he only has about $200,000 invested in it.
Cheers

What a waste of a good $200,000.
Alwhite00 May 10th, 07, 5:46 AM If you race him stay on the left so you don't get a face full of smoke if you are laging. :)

Cameano May 10th, 07, 12:23 PM I know a guy out here with a Dodge Ram, 5.9 Cummins. Custom pump on it built by a good friend, sequential turbo setup, other goodies. Makes 90lbs boost. No timeslips yet, as we don't have a track, but this summer the truck will be going to Maui to run, once the new Superferry (www.hawaiisuperferry.com) gets here. :hurray:
novaderrik May 10th, 07, 2:24 PM i've seen a seemingly stock looking newer Dodge knock off low 8's in the 1/8th mile.
it had a HUGE exhaust pipe and a Gale Banks sticker in the back window..
if he leaves it in 2wd, those dually's just leave 4 black trails all the way down the track and he runs 10's.
this truck was actually his tow rig for his "real" racecar- he'd show up at the track on friday night and enter it into the street grudge races, and race his real car on saturday in the brackets.
