: 2006 ZO6 192 mph video
va2001ss May 9th, 07, 2:12 PM This video was shot during a "standing mile" comparison test MT did a while back on the runways at NAS Leemore. Don't mind the advertisement at the beginning. Note the speeds in the different gears, modern GM muscle at it's best!

DougA May 9th, 07, 3:09 PM Kinda lays flat in high gear.Just kidding, thats amazing. The most amazing part is you can walk into a Chevy dealer and drive one home if you have the coin.
Jimmy P May 9th, 07, 3:47 PM That was a dyno.......

There was about 10 cars invited to the "standing mile" test and MT had a front page story on the event. If you turn up the volume you can hear the 150 mph wind noise. The web site used to have the video from outside the cars as they went by at 150+. It's legit.
MAN that thing hauls @ss! 100 mph in nothing flat. Looks to me like it hit 200 mph by the speedo. If i just had an extra $70k burning a hole in my pocket.:noway:
ChaosEnvy May 9th, 07, 8:02 PM Wonder how much better it would be with the AC off?
chevelledude71 May 9th, 07, 8:31 PM That had to be the smoothest 192 miles an hour I've ever seen.
va2001ss May 9th, 07, 8:34 PM It ran the "standing mile" in 29.3 @ 174 mph that day. The A/C part is a bit tongue and cheek since the A/C cuts out at WOT anyway.
Dang, I wish they would've had a shot out of the windshield. That'd be so cool.
cuisinartvette May 10th, 07, 3:18 AM 174 in the standing mile is fantastic. I wouldnt have believed it 10 years ago if you'd have told me ou could go out and buy a factory 11 sec car that idled like a baby.
Now, if they could solve their valvespring issue...
Phil Keller May 10th, 07, 4:28 AM What wimps. They didn't do it on the highway.
Mr69 May 10th, 07, 5:20 AM If you count at the end, the car went from 190mph to 120 mph in 4 seconds. That doesn't seem right.
If you left it in top gear and took your foot off the accelerator pedal, I don't think it's going to decelerate 20mph per second.
I suppose if they were on the brakes hard at the end, they could slow down from 190 to 120 in four seconds. But why would they be hard on the brakes? Were they attempting 0-190-0 times??
ps, Von, you're reading the speedo wrong. They barely broke 190.
Watched it again and you're right, just over 190. Looks like it might've had just a little more left, but probably not 200. The forthcoming 650+ hp Corvette SS (coming in 2008 as a 2009 model) should easily eclipse 200. Insiders report its supercharged 6.2 liter LS-9 is making over 700 hp on the dyno.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!! I want one of those.
va2001ss May 10th, 07, 10:05 AM I think the "official" top speed is advertised at 198.
von May 10th, 07, 11:11 AM HOLY CRAP!!!!!! I want one of those.
Me too (dreaming). Problem is they're supposed to list at around $100k and be very limited production, around 1000 units per year I read. That means they'll be very hard to find and will be marked up to ridiculous levels (probably $150k or more IMO) like the Ford GT was.
Motorhead62 May 10th, 07, 1:22 PM Cool Video!
