Is there any thing stronger with the same dimensions as the 1310 ujoint? Wouldn't it be a bit stronger even if there was no grease fitting/machining?
Or is the yoke already the weak spot above the 1310 limits?
Thanks,

The 1310 without the grease fitting is stronger. They made a heavy duty joint that actually wasn't too bad (I couldn't break one) But I don't know if they still do.

Spicer makes a non-grease fitted joint.

The Spicer Life u joint is suppose to be solid. It will be stronger than a regular u joint.

What exactly were you hitting the joint with?

4000lb 55 wagon 10.90s with a 427, 57 Olds rear and a Muncie (many Muncies). I never broke the u-joint but sure broke everything else in the drivetrain.

Found this on one of the 4x4 sites...

So I'm looking for Dana part number 5-785X if I want to go non-greasable, I think.
