What does your 70-72 Chevelle weight? I am wanting to take some pounds of my 70, but I don't want to and will not cut it.
I am figuring on a glass hood, and maybe aluminum heads, etc.
But what about ya'll 70-72, what does it weight?

I just weighed my '70 Malibu last Saturday.
With me in the seat (190 lbs) and a half tank of gas, the car weighed exactly 3700 lbs.
Equipped with a Merlin big block, Turbo 400, 12 bolt, aluminum heads & intake, headers, aluminum radiator, Harwood 4" cowl bolt on hood, 6 point roll bar, AC removed but retained heater, disc brakes, aluminum wheels and full bench interior.
Same car last year with an aluminum headed 383 and no cage weighed 3550#.

70 SS All steel, 1/3 tank of gas, spare tire, radio w/ amp and subs (the radio knobs collect more dust than the spare tire..), full interior, alum heads on BB, TH400, 12 bolt, gear vendors OD, 4 wheel discs, copper-brass-lead 4 core, electric fan, PS, PB, 3860lbs without driver, 56/44 distribution.
Is about what the same optioned car "curb weight" minus the gear vendors but with iron heads would weigh according to my GM literature from the era, 3850lbs. Toss my butt in the car and its like 4020 with enough gas to get down the track a few times. On a side note, my wheels/tires are very heavy. I will put one of the rears on a bathroom scale tomorrow before they go back on the car, my "arm scale" says 40+ lbs..
