Hi all, I'm building a 427 (.60 over ) with a 10 to 1. I'm using Merlin Rectangular port heads. 305 cc. I'm probably going to use a single plane manifold. Also 750 mighty demon carb might be in order. I have the rear out of my '69 now so maybe a gear swap?. I have 3.55's now. The car will see some street use. I plan to go with a solid lifter cam. Anybody out there have a similar combo? Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Also forgot the car has a M21. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

This is my old 427 combo
10.60 CR
GMPP 290CC oval ports 2.25 / 1.88 ( should flow close to yours)
Team G single plane
750 Dominator
various other " mild big block stuff"
3200 lb car
4 speed
3.89 gears.
pulled a 10.98 off the bottle before I yank it.
It would pulled strong from 2700 rpm to 7200 rpm. Never had a flat spot. I could never get rid of a mild low RPM surge at around 1800 rpm but I realy never tried too hard either.
I ran a Comp Cams XE 284 HYDRAULIC with pro magnum lifter set at .002 pre load. Noisey as heck but a great cam. My current build it is going to use another XE cam .

Depending on how high you spin it, I really like the 402A3LUN. Mine is on a 110 lsa, you might opt for a 108 if you have enough stall. I shift at 6700. Analogous cam from Comp might be a 280S short track cam.
