: 1972 Nova 350
Mr Chevelle May 7th, 07, 11:22 PM I'm looking at this 1972 Nova tomorrow....he's taking offers. What's a fair price for a stock 350/auto/bench/black interior/10 year old paint/no rust Nova. He says it needs a windshield and has bondo around the rear wheel wells. This picture was taken a couple of days ago.

Jimmy P May 8th, 07, 11:31 AM Those rear wheel openings have been created by a bondo artist.
Figure - new 1/4 panels, outer wheel housings, labor, paint to be about 5-6 thousand dollars, it's worth about 2k .....to me anyways.
I LOVE Novas too! Nova's were my first three cars. It's tough to find one that's straight and rust-free. I'd steer clear of this one. There's enough signs on it, even from this single photo to walk.

Good advice, thank you.
Alwhite00 May 8th, 07, 5:23 PM No rust? It does not count if it is covered with bondo? This guy must be a used car salesman.

BACK FROM THE DEAD May 9th, 07, 2:54 AM looks like it has 70 front fenders, and the lips look to be molded out of bondo also.
could still be worth getting, as Novas are harder to find than chevelles ( imo ).
just look it over close, see what it really needs, and decide if you are really willing to go that far.
Mr Chevelle May 9th, 07, 10:01 AM I looked at it yesterday, lots of problems. I was the first to look with others offering more than 6K if I didn't take it....I walked!
The seasonal supply/demand for what people consider muscle cars is crazy. Advice at TC keeps me grounded, thanks again.

Good move. When I was at the Pate swap meet two weeks ago, I was VERY tempted by a 68 Nova. Dry Texas car, all original with all the up-graded trim and 307. No dents no rust with original lacquer paint. Ran and drove, but needed total resto. Guy was asking 6500 for it, but I heard he'd take 5,000 for it. In my mind, it was priced good @ 5,000 since you got a 100% rust free car, all original with every original part intact.
I will have a Nova pretty soon myself I hope.
Steve340 May 9th, 07, 1:59 PM Cars probably " Worth " about 5K
If the floors are solid, and she runs good, and you like it, not a bad buy, prices for these are creeping up, due to the insanity with certian other makes.
Post this question at stevesnovasite im sure youll get better advice than dont buy it because it has rust around the rear wells. Or its worth 2 grand, thats insane
my 2 cents

Burnsamatic May 9th, 07, 3:29 PM I'm putting my fathers '70 Nova SS 350 up for sale if you're interested. He's 76 years old and too old to drive it anymore.
It's a numbers matching drivetrain car with a 350-300HP engine(CRE), Automatic(Turbo 350) on the column, bench seat car. Black interior, Blue exterior, Black vinyl top, 12 bolt posi, rear factory sway bar, ralleys, etc. We've owned it since 1985. Need to get 20K.
