I need to pull the "module" that houses the speedometer in my '70 E Camino (sweep dash).

I don't need to know every single detail involved, but if someone would give me the general steps involved, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I have pulled many SS dashes and Sweep dashes, I am a 70 guy. The long and short of it is, The dash must come out. Not that hard. Pull the A pillers at the windshield bolts behind, Unhook the heater controls they will stay in this position, ONE very hidden bolt!! After you unhook the speedo cable a bolt is hiding here. Drop the colum, Put a pillow on the seat to hold it. I assume the dash pad has been removed? Put your finger along the headlite switch and push in on the release button and pull the knob and shaft out of the switch. Unplug wires and go slow and be carefull. When the dash is ready to come out, You should have another person to help. If you do not want to pull it all the way out.
Get two pieces of 1/4" X 20 Thread all about 10" long and more pillows, Screw the thread all in at the L. and RT. corners (by the A pillers) slid it out like dresser drawer and pillow the center. I most likely forgot some stuff, If you have a problem Some of us will help. The weak spot is to the right of the lighter, This is where you may BRAKE it BE careful. Best to have a helper. Bob
