: 3.08 to 4.10:
Motor Martyr Mar 28th, 04, 8:58 PM I spent the last week swapping rears, painting the underneith of the backhalf of the car, running brake lines, welding in a few new peices of steel in areas of the trunk, running a new fuel line (3/8), new sender and even painting the gas tank.
Here's some before/after photos:

Please ignore the 6 cylinde exhaust, it's going to be coming out with a sawzall shortly :D
After taking it for a spin, i have some minor things to attend to, and i'd like to say, if this is a "Small" change....i can't wait for the big change! :D
I might do some track testing, but whats more important, is getting the next project on a roll, which needs to be finished in time that i dont miss another points day.

70_FathomBlueMalibu Mar 28th, 04, 9:30 PM Brian, that's awesome! I bet you can't wait to get that 383 in there and make some WOT passes. :D
Did you get that fresh tranny in there?
What is your long-term E.T. goal? What's the next phase of the project? Keep us posted! graemlins/beers.gif
Motor Martyr Mar 28th, 04, 9:49 PM i gotta get some better pictures, after the last few bugs are worked out, i'll shoot some more photos.
The trans is on the new motor, and will be going in when i do the front end.
Front end should be coming apart in a few days, i want to give myself a few days off, to take a short break.
70_FathomBlueMalibu Mar 28th, 04, 9:55 PM Interesting. I'm doing a complete front end rebuild this next week myself. I went with a PST Polygraphite kit, as I think Ed is using this setup.
I'm trying to spend money on parts that will be applicable for now and when I go BSE BB in the future.
What kind of front end are you goin with?
mr 4 speed Mar 28th, 04, 10:22 PM Brian,looking' good-nice job graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Motor Martyr Mar 28th, 04, 11:06 PM Chris,
thanks!
Justin,
The subframe going in is another stock frame that i cleaned up and painted. Stock A-arms, and bushings. Koni Adjustable street shocks, and 6 cylinder springs.
I have another project i'm working on putting in the car, but it wont be ready for some time.
Ed is using the PST bushings, but he modified them to use grease fittings.
travis g Mar 29th, 04, 12:48 AM My last nova ('78 with a 250 L6) had an exhaust system just like yours. The original muffler was rotted out and rattling like crazy, so I just hacked it and the tailpipe off. It still had the catalytic convertor so it wasn't really loud, but exiting under the car like that gave it a suprisingly aggressive sound. And then people wanted to race me all the time  It was a wicked nova...250 L6, 3 on the tree, and 2.73 gears :D

Motor Martyr Mar 29th, 04, 7:52 PM Travis, the exhuast is going to go when the motor goes. The new stuff will be dynomax ultraflos, exiting under the car, but wont be loud from a distance.
Thanks Red
Eddy,
thanks for the compliments. Actually this is all prep for the next motor which will like the 4.10 ratio.
Tracy Focht Mar 30th, 04, 1:22 PM Looks good Brian...keep us posted on the motor install! graemlins/beers.gif
