After posting about a problem I had with the car dieseling/running backwards (not sure which was happening), I took a few people's advice and lowered my idle. So far it hasn't done this again, but I haven't driven it much yet either. Anyway..... now that i've lowered my idle, my oil pressure is like 15-25lbs at idle. Idle being 600-700. I noticed if I set the idle to 900-1000 my oil pressure is 35-39lbs...much better. Will having only 15-25lbs of oil pressure at idle be enough!?

Thanks

PS. I bumped up the timing from 12 initial to 14 or 15 initial (hard to see)(34total at 3k) and it's running a lot better now. graemlins/thumbsup.gif :D The 110 octane didn't hurt either. :D

More than enough IMO. Thats about where I am with a stock pump.

It only takes 3-5 psi to float the bearings. 15-25 is more than enough.

so like 15-20 is fine for a 500-600rpm idle? same thing happend to my car, the idle was set low after the carb was rebuilt, and now i have like 15-20 at idle maybe a little less.

Ok cool. It still goes up pretty damn well when I get on it.

Thanks
