I have a 67 chevelle ss and am installing a Tremec TKO 600. I need a tunnel patch kit for the floor and "Classic Chevy 5speed" and some other companies make some really great ones. However they won't sell just the tunnel patch itself. I can't get any body man to make one for less than the cost of his first born child and I don't want to make one out of flattened beer cans. Anyone got any ideas? It would be nice to get one already fabricated.
Thanks in advance for any possible assistance to this matter.

Our tunnel patch is just a generic piece of steel to get you started. It doesn't fit perfectly and requires body work to finish it. Go to your local body shop and buy a piece of body sheet metal and ask them to roll it for you. It shouldn't cost more than $20.00 or so. It would cost us more than that to ship one of ours to you.
My local body shop gave me an old hood to cut metal from.

I used a doner hump from a chevelle parts car for my TKO install.

For ease of fabrication... I still think fiberglass takes the cake. Put the tranny in and lay and tape a couple of sheet pieces of styrofoam in place as forms. Add in a wax paper covering or a couple coats of latex paint on the foam to keep the polyester resin from dissolving it. Grind a 2-3" margin of clean metal around the hole and start laying glass. Guaranteed to fit perfectly :)
