I have a demon carburetor and need some help on tuning it. I have a 454 bored 60 over with a big cam. Some of the problems that I am experiencing is that the car won't start up right away. Takes a little cranking. Also when I hit the accelerator hard the engine stumbles. The car idles roughly around 750 rpms. Is this to high or low? There is a little stumble in the idle. After the car is hot it takes a little longer to start. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I live in Illinois(chicago land area), does anyone know of a place that might tune it for me.

does it have a choke? The demons are bad about the choke restricting TOOOO much air on start up cold. The rod needs bent so the choke is open a bit more at copld start up. Idle should be around 800 give ior take. it should be smooth but if not ther carb is adjustable at all four corners and needs to be done equally at each. Good luck Paul.

Is the choke opening? Sounds like it's stuck closed. Had this problem with my Demon with an electric choke.
