: What to get next?

I have $250 to spend right now. What should I do with it? I ran 14.14 a couple weeks ago and need to hit 13's ASAP. I have a 350 w/ Comp xtreme energy 212/218 .447/.454, performer intake, HEI, stock heads w/ comp springs aprx. 9:1, th350 s/ stock conveter, 12 bolt 3.31's.

Should I save it till I sell my dirt bike, which I'll be getting $700 for, and buy heads. If so, what type for $900? I would rather wait and buy heads when I can afford the AFR's.

Or buy converter for $250, I was looking at a Coan 2400-2600. I think I'll hit 13's w/ a converter, because I leave the line @ 1200rpm. Then with other money a little bigger cam and some suspension mods drop spindles, springs.

Thanks

Comp 280H cam and 3.55 gear. That oughta do it.

What carb setup are you running ?

what was your 60 ft. on the 14.14 run? what tires are you using?

Don't buy a $250 converter -- it would be a cheapo and cheapo converters are a bad thing IMO.

I'd save and get some heads. For $900 you can almost get a set of Trick Flow 23* heads. That would be my choice. A simple cleanup will have them flowing about the same as the AFRs for a lot less cash.

Just my opinion

PS. I think the Coan units are typically going for roughly $450

2.142 60'
I have a holley 750 dp, I know it's big but I will convert it too blow through for my future blower setup.

I have BMR adjustable uppers w/ poly bushings, SSM lift bars and air bags in springs. Ran on 265/50/15 street tires w/ little to no tire spin.

I talked to the guy at Coan and he said about $250, but it's not a non ballooning.

Thanks

Get some drag radials or ET streets you'll be in the 13's no problem..a 1.85-1.90 60 ft. or so would get you there, and you need sticky tires to do that or better..a short tire too..no taller than 26"
You don't need to change anything or spend any money on ANYTHING other than some tires..and some tuning to the carb, timing curve, etc. will help.Your current ET is fine..just the 60 is soft, therfore keeping you out of the high 13's..JMHO and experience.

With my current setup there is no way I will hit a 1.90 60' just w/ tires. Last time I ran the track was super sticky and I didn't notice any tire spin. I was thinking a converter would help my 60' more since I am leaving at 1200rpm. 2000+ rpm would be much more in the power band. Then the tires might help.

A convertor and tires would put you solidly into the 13's

I'd venture to suggest,

Lower Gears,

Stickier Tires,

Looser Converter

or the Vortech heads.
