Yesterday I took my driver side header off to clearance (beat the crap) out of it since it was burning two of my plug wires. Got everything back together went to start it up had it in first w/ the clutch in and the car just lurches forward like theres no clutch. Okay Ill adjust the rod. Took the rod out some and it seemed to be okay. Let it set for 15-20 minutes and decide to take it for a drive. Go to start it same thing like the clutch is stuck to the pressre plate. Rock car back and forth freed it up and it started. Okay ill adjust it a little more. This morning same thing. If I let it set for a second I have to hold the brake in to start it in gear or it lurches forward. The combo was fine before I took the header off. What have I done?

One of my customer had that too, with their Chevelle. Do you have a flywheel cover on there? It seemed like they got bonded together due to moisture, take it out and beat it, it should be fine.

Yea, I got a cover. I did take it out this morning and flogged it pretty good. Same thing. Could the z-bar shifting cause this?

Ya, weird. I'd look under the car with another person operating the clutch - maybe something is binding. Check to see if the T/O bearing is still properly seated in the fork maybe?

Did you lose any hardware while working down there? I lost a washer once and had the same problem. Turns out it found it's way into the pressure plate, underneath the spring, so when you pushed in the pedal, it'd actually push the pressure plate forward on the clutch disc right under the washer.

I took everythig loose last night checked everything over and put it back. Its seems to be fine now. The only thing I can think of if the z-bar was binding.
