i have a monte ss steering box for my chevelle,i understand that i need a certain rag joint,i noticed a universal one at napa,will that work?Also,can i just find a power steering pump/hoses from a newer car instead of ordering the metric fittings.

Do a search on these topics in the Steering & Suspension forum. You can get the adapters to match the metric and inch parts (I think from Lee manufacturing) and the coupler will need to be from a '77 to '83 car which will allow the old column to connect to the metric gearbox. Do a search on the member name JIML82 as he is the steering expert. I got my rag joint from a '79 Olds Omega to put the newer gear in my '72 and that was based on the stuff posted by Jim.
