The Fel-Pro rubber coated shim gaskets I bought ask for a RA of 55 or less. My heads and block aren't close to that....they're both straight but look dull grey. The heads are relativly new but the block has never been decked. Would it be even possible to run them with just some copper coat? Obviously I should just have everything milled, but the funds just won't allow it and I need this running asap.

Worst case I just return these and get compostition gaskets....

Sure!

I'd take a small fine Bastard cut triangle file and very gently go from bolt-hole to bolt-hole on both heads and decks to very lightly clean them up while using WD-40 as a lube and cleaner!!

NOTE!! This is a "feelie" thing here so DON'T get carried away.

You will see the high spots that pull up around the block bolt-holes.

Been there, and done this fine using Mr. G's, .020" thick steel shims several times!!
