When using a 4.25 bbc stroker crank, are their any advantages or disadvantages to using either the 6.135 or 6.385 rod oal? Meaning when it comes to balancing the bottom end, does the longer rod make it easier. How about piston selection?

If the 4.25 arm crank counter weights have been cut to clear a longer rod, use them. Better rod ratio is just better. If it's external balance you want, this does not matter too much. Unless you buy a piece of CRAP CAT crank like I did. CAT is with out a doubt a .1 SIGMA outfit. Pure Asian garbage.. graemlins/angry.gif .. hey did I mention CAT quality. lol  If it's internal balance you want, the extra counter weights will help and if your really lucky.... avoid that expensive Mallory metal.

Go with the 1/4" longer rods, (and maybe a Lunati 1/4" stroker crank also), and save yourself some balancing hassle if you try to use the stock length rods..
Been there, done that!!!
