: little bog or hesitation- low rpm?

This one kinda has me scratching my head. This is different than the cam not being the torqueist thing in the world, its when I give it a little throttle blip for a few seconds I get a I don't know whether to call it a hesitation or bog, but its like the engine has no power for a second then comes on back online.
Its different than having to wait to 2800rpm for the thing to pull and it gives no hint of it if you do what I do when I do my goofball practice launches on the back-back-roads (0-40 or 1st gear shift), and on those all I do now is bring the engine up to about 1800 with the footbrake then off the brake and onto the gas as quick and hard as possible w/o letting it get sideways-- a little squeal I don't care about, but when I can see the side of the car by looking out my window, I know i got a little too agressive that time :D
I can't hold the engine above 2000 with the brakes, but this is the same torque converter as I had before, but I could get it up to 2800 with the old cam, but this cam makes less power (you don't need a dyno to tell you this) down at 1000-25ish00. I thought it would be the opposite? and the brake prop valve is in the same spot.
Anyone riding in the car would never know that there is less low end because a little harder with the foot and the car is still outta control wild, but I do notice going up the extremely steep hill leading to my house that i need to gas it more to get it to go up (@ like 15-25mph, thin, windy road).

Sorry I got two topics. But this bog thing is odd. I know there is something I'm supposed to check first right away, but I forget.. float levels? this wouldn't be an indication of something more serious generally?

RTH--

You know that could be it-- I have been having trouble with the hose at the vacuum advance hookup because it has to to such a horrible bend around the intake manifold, and I took it off and was trying different bolt sizes to stuff into it to clamp and block it off for a run at the track (which I forgot to do in the end), but I marred the hose up pretty good. I might need to cut it, put it back on, and use a small clamp.

I'll try this first-- probably something dumb, but I always jump to worst case scenario stuff.

try to up the size of the sqirters. that may fix the flat spot.
