Hi guys,

Yes, It's true...I'm a Pontiac owner, but I need help with a problem and was hoping you Chevy guys wouldn't mind helping me out.

I'm hoping that some of you 64-67 owners might have a suggestion to a problem I've having since no one in the Pontiac world seems to have a solution.

I have a '67 Lemans Vert that's a nice street car, but I want to be able to do some tuning and run decent at the drags. My fuel tank has a 1/4 factory vent in the filler neck, which I think is inadequate for my application. My tank is sumped, and I run a Mallory Comp 140 pump, which is regulated at the carb, and I'm using the factory steel supply line as a return line.

I want to either keep the tank I have or would like to purchase a custom replacement tank that will bolt in the place of the one I have that has adequate venting (maybe someone makes a tig-welded sumped tank that is other wise a bolt-in???)

If I keep the tank I have, the only easy method I can think of would be to purchase a different sending unit (one with a factory return built in). Does anyone have a suggestion of how to add additional venting?

No one makes a vented cap that will fit my filler neck, and I would consider a fuel cell if someone made one that would bolt in place of my tank with a minimum of mods. I'm bnot too crazy about cutting up my trunk floor.

TIA.....
Jim

you could awalys just install one of these into your gas cap however that probrally do make a vented cap for your application http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_96982_-1

Drill a small 1/8 hole in the center of the cap. It will relieve the pressure.

I tried that and it dumped gas out every time I took off.

Yeah.....it will also relieve some fuel onto the ground, too....
