just wanted to see what you guys thought of my new upgrades and possable predictions of my upgrades.
my last outing was late last summer with a best run of 14.47@98mph with a 2.15 60 ft time in street trim running on 245/60-15 uniroyals
my combo was
-414 ci bbc
-10.2 to 1 comp.
-delta cam 233/239 @ .050 with .548/.551 lift
-'390 closed chambered heads that was ported with 2.19/1.88 valves
-roller tip rockers 1.72 ratio
-summit headers with 2 1/2" pipes to 7 year old turbo mufflers dumped at the axle
-2.41 posi
-2100 stall
-torker 2 intake with a 3310 750 holley carb.
-stock cold air induction air cleaner with a K&N filter.
-hei with msd 6al box timming set at 36 total
new changes
-2.73 posi track rear end
-new tires on the rear same brand and size
-2800 stall from big end convertors
-recurved the hei to keep engine out of ping still 36 total with 22 initial
-heads was tore off replaced the guides (liners) with bronze (because i lost 7 stock guides) and replaced 7 valves to match the other SS valves that had the cut down stems(because the last machinist put in 7 stock valves and didnt bother to match them up with my good valves he replaced) cut down the guides in the throat of the bowl because the last machinist just shoved the guides down to make cleareance for the lift instead of cutting the tops off....(made my cut down valves useless and had about and inch or more of guide blocking my ports) did a 3 angle valve job since the last machinist only put on a 45 degree seat cut........i asked for a 3 angle valve job and didnt get it..........finish the final touches of porting after new head work was done.I assembled the heads to make sure the work i asked for was done to my approval
-raised my compression a .3 from 10.2 to 10.5 to 1
-advanced my cam 4 degrees because my cam was retarded when i installed it straight up.....its now advanced........
-installed 2 fullboar high flow mufflers that are 2 1/2" in and out (fully welded design)
-added 2 1/4" tail pipes out the rear........
the car feels faster but have not gone to the track yet.......my goal was to get it down to at least 13.80's and break into the 100 mph zone with this street car........i drive it daily as much as i can i have driven it regularly to work which is 90 miles round trip.......of course when the weather is nice.......
