Just thought i would ask the guys who know.

I have a 350 engine that has a block casting #3970010 and cylinder head casting numbers are #458842.

Can anyone tell me about the block and heads ?

good block thers a chance its a 4 bolt main. the heads are junk!

I can not find the # listed for the heads, is there a cross ref number for the heads . I would like to know what they are.

They show a 458642 head as 1.72i, 1.5e with 75cc chambers, no info on an -842.

3970010 shows as a '69-'79 302 or 350, poissbly with 4-bolt mains (vette, some truck, some pass cars)

Basically, what stroked78 said. Block good, possibly 4-bolt. Heads probably not so good.
