Hello Everyone,

Just finishing out my manifold for header swap and I got the #'s of my manifolds and they are as follows. 3909879 l/h and 3916178 r/h and they are smog manifolds. Off the top my my head they are 68 date coded. Looking in the chevy by the #'s they fit a varity of applications from 67-70 including Copo and 70 LS6 cars. I would love to post them on ebay since I made a promise to myself not to keep stuff laying around. But what are they worth? A light sand bast and some paint and these would be perfect.

Thanks.
Frank

Here's what the market has done lately. If you have late 68 date coded (for 69 model year) then they are going to bring a little more. The fact they are date coded 68 and have smog ports injures the bottom line a bit. likely 200-300 depending upon condition.

3909879 l/h - 1967-72

3916178 r/h - 1968-72

Probably worth a small fortune on ebay but I think because so many have been replaced by headers plus so many people would rather have headers they can still be found for $50.00-$100.00 each.

ACTUALLY if i am correct the ls6 manifolds carried the same number but for some reason they were diff. something about where they pourd the liquid in the mold.

Clean them up, paint them with cast iron grey high heat paint and put them on eBay.
You'll be pleasantly surprised.
The last nice clean set I saw on there went for around $800. I think they were dated for a 70 though.

If the casting numbers and dates are crisp, they'll command good money.
Start tham at $1 and let er rip.
They are correct for Nova, Camaro and Chevelle.

He told me one is dated 69 and one dated 68 .......now how does that change the money ? 70's are gonna bring better money over the others . Thanks

Well, if one was dated Dec 68 and the other was Jan 69, then they'd be a matched pair most likely and could go on the same car.

eBay hints:

list them seperatly. Some people just want to replace that one, cracked manifold. List shipping prices seperatly and together.

I agree with the above statement, start at $1 and let er rip. I have best success with that. (And it's the most fun too!) No worries, eBay will get you the best price.

Put the years of car they fit in the title.

Good luck.

Just for example i have been watching muscle car parts on ebay for yrs now and i have seen those ex manifolds in matched/dated sets in very good cond blatsed/cleaned with new studs sell for anywhere from $200-$1,000 +,but on avg $350-$400 .

But they can go for big bucks when you get 2 or more bidders that need that exact build date for their high end big $ resto, thats when i have seen them go for $800-$1k at times in that situation.

Since we are on the subject of what car parts a going for here are a few tid bits of what some gm 68-70 muscle car parts have been going for these days on Ebay.

I have seen 2 NOS DUAL SNORKLE GM aircleaner assemblies for for 70 454 chevelles sell for big bucks,1 last wk went for $3,200 with shelf wear/scratches/couple dings & the 1st one that was in perfect cond went for $6,000,that one had to be going on a $100,00-$150,000 70 LS6 resto for sure.

I have seen a q-jet core for rbld only that fits 70 ss 396/402 chevelle etc with man trans go for $800 a while back,i recently saw another one go for $450 last wk needing a resto/rbld.

I saw a distributor that looked to be in good cond for a 69 396/375 go for over $1,000 last wk .

I have also seen bare 396/375hp blocks go for $3k-$3,500 & bare 454/450hp LS6 blocks going for $5,500-6,000.

Man,at these prices if i didnt buy my #'s matching 69 chevelle ss 396 back almost 30yrs ago there is no way i could afford to buy a nice one original one or restore one with the prices original parts are going for these days, would need to be a millionaire IMHO.

but deals can still be had.........
I just bought (in 2 sep. auctions) a pair of 1972 dated NON-smog BBC ex. manifolds for 86 for the pair. 40 for one 46 for the other.

both have been cleaned & checked & were bought by me from machine shops. 1 in Cali & the other in AZ.

Dan,thats a nice deal for sure but when talking BBC ex manifolds its the 69-70 BBC muscle cars parts in general that bring the most $ these days. The 71 & 72's are just not as popular/hot (YET)from what i see the parts & cars going for in the 71 & 72 yrs but i think they too will become just as hot in a couple yrs.
