I have a '69 malibu 4dr hard top, 350, automatic, 12 bolt rear end. Are there numbers on the block that will tell me its horse power is? If so where do I look and I'll post them here. Or a good web site to go to that will decode a block, thanks

Lance,

On the front of the engine, passenger side just below the head is a series of numbers that can be decoded to tell you what it came in and possible HP. post those numbers and someone here can help you. If you look on the drivers side where the block meets the tranny there will be a 7 digit block casting number and you can go to http://www.mortec.com/ to see if you block is truly a 350. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Go to www.nastyz28.com and decode your engine using the suffix codes forward of the right cylinder head and the block casting codes behind the left cylinder head on the transmission flange.

Just curious, I noticed it has a 12 bolt. Is it a 250, 255, or 300 hp 350?

Mine is a 1970 with a 12 bolt. It is a 350/300hp. Mine has a four barrel carb as well. Check with mortec to find out for sure. Goodluck and keep us posted. Chef
