yeah I'm curious too. That just comes with the body of the carb right? nothing else ? how about the base plate? or metering blocks b\c those all effect how much the carb flows. thanks

The proform carb i'm talking about is the whole carb not just the main body. But I can't find much imformation on them like what they actually flow.I'm sure someone has tried one! graemlins/waving.gif

I saw those last month. They had most of the parts for sale too. Looks like they are using their main body, metering blocks, and billet throttle plate. They sell all the parts seperatly except for bowls from what I could tell, they hsd holley bowls listed in Summit. I just went with the main body, and got a new pair of Holley HP metering blocks, and used a 650 double pumper for the base plate and bowls. Only about $150 into it so far. I haven't tried it yet though.

I bet the base plates are a lot nicer than the original Holley, they might clear up the sloppy throttle shaft problem for alot of carbs out there. I wonder how proform did calibrating this carb built from pieces, ttt

I recently looked on their web site and could no longer find the separate base plate. The main body and metering blocks are still there. The disapearance of the base plate seemed to coincide with the intro of the complete carb.

i thought about buying the proform main body to exchange out mine............3310-2.......but i wonder if i would really see a gain.....it looks nice and all...the proform......but some times looks dont make it faster.......

does anyone out there seen any different with there car or friends.......by just "up grading" the main body with a proform or something similiar

wonder how much the cfm rating of the carb goes up?

A guy I know switched his mainbody for a proform, just reused the rest of his old 850 double pumper and he said it was WELL worth it. I on the other hand will be purchasing the 950 on Feb. 20th ( student loan refund comes in:) along with a holley strip dominator. Hopefully the switch from the 750 (3310-2) and the dualplane will net me about 30-40 horse. I know it seems like a lot from a carb/intake swap, but the 498 needs to breath better. Although I could be out of my mind. A small dual plane and small 750 just don't cut it.

They don't seem to be much cheaper then a Holley HP.

I just bought an 850 off a local guy on ebay for 469.00. ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33550&item=2460296725) This is the same guy I bought mine from. It is new in the box. Its jetted 76, 84, 4.5 pv, 33 nozzles on both sides. Has 71 idle air bleeds and 33 high speed bleed. I will probably try it out in a few weeks, if it blows the 750 dp away I will post how it did. Mark
