hey guys,
I installed the Eibach front springs with SC&C Stage II plus kit....everything went in fine, problem is the car is sitting really low now....I only have 2" of clearance between my headers and ground....front crossmember (in the middle right in front of oil pan sump) and ground is at 4"......the car looks really nice, but......
is that enough clearance or no go? I am not sure why the car droped so much...I was hoping for 2" (1.3 from the springs and .75" from Marcus system with the tall ball joints.)
I love the stance, just concerned with the headers...
thanks...

Thats not going to be enough clearance..The car may be a little low but your headers should fit against the floor tighter than that. 2 inches between the cross member and the bottom of the headers is a fair amount. 4 inches is pretty decent between the cross member and the ground. If you could get the headers up I would leave it alone otherwise you'll have to raise the front some.

Too low is right...I assume you measured it with no one in the car...put a couple people in there and it will be worse.
I have long tube headers on my car and when I lowered the car (really low) I remember driving over a speed bump in parking lot with two passengers...let's just say I had to stop and tell them to get out as I was stuck on my exhaust flange...

What brand of headers? 4" at the crossmember is usually enough... sounds like poor-fitting headers hanging too low.

Post up some pictures of the stance is has with the tall ball joints and eibach springs. Is your car a SB or BB?

it is BB...the headers are Super Comps 2", and Derek you are right they do fit poorly...
I don't think the springs are right for this....the shocks are almost all the way compressed...
also, the top portion of the frame of the spring perch is almost hitting the rubber bump stop on the lower control arm, et cetera...
I am confused as I think others have gone with this combination (springs and SC&C setup) and worked for them?
I will get the car down this morning and see if I can take some pictures...
thanks guys..

Like I said allready your car might be a little low . I never tried your parts combo. Were the springs made for that set up? A taller spindle will lower the car more than the springs alone. You might have to talk to the company that sold it to you ;heavier rate ,etc. That being said the headers definately hang down to much and will be the limiting factor on your ground clearence even if you raise it some.

thanks man...
springs are the Eibach set....Marc recommended those with the Stage II setup...I think they are 550 lbs rate....
Car needs to come up 2", about 1" on the spring....right now ride height at spring is about 10 1/4" (from the top of the spring to the bottom of it in the LCA) with the car on the ground....1/4" from the bump stop on the LCA....24 1/4" from ground to fender lip at center of wheel, about 4" at the crossmember.....
I need to get the ride height as mentioned above at 11 1/2", this would give about 2" more clearance all around....it will also get the frame at about 1.5" from the bump stop which I think is decent travel...
how the heck do I do that?
You are right, the headers really suck...once I get the car on the road I can take it to an exhaust shop to see if they can cut the headers and re-weld them....
thanks

Those headers are low... That may be pretty difficult to cut and reweld them. Would probably be better off just buying new headers. Maybe even talk to the manufacturer about their poor fit and try to get some compensation. I would be kind of mad if I paid for such nice headers and the fit was so poor. Are they advertised specifically for chevelles/a bodies?
