Just wanted to share with anyone that would listen just because I'm excited. I have my 498 done and have been scared about the emission testing (Arizona) due to my cam is a Lunati Hyd Roller with a .629 lift and a 250/255 @.050 duration. Anyway I am just excited as the car has been down for quite awhile due to the motor build. (This site helped more than you all realize) but I am just about back on the road!!! YEA!!!

Man, that's a great looking automobile graemlins/thumbsup.gif Judging from the build specs it should be a stout runner, too. Any plans to take it to the track? Oh yeah, congrats on passing the sniffer test smile.gif

Why did you have to pass? Is it an AZ thing?

Great lookin' truck! I especially love the stance and the tires. Perfect combo. I can almost hear it running! :D

Thanks for all the compliments!
It is an AZ thing, we have to emission all the way back to 67! I have to do a little work to get it though the test. Your basic timing retard, rejet and reset the carb (get it lean)and then I put on 4 Catalytic Converters, two on each side crank up the idle etc.
As soon as I get it through I put the other exhaust on (3" duals dumped at rear with
3 1/2" electric cutouts at header) and reset the timing, carb etc. back to where it runs for power. Less than a day to put on the emission goodies, test it, and get it back to original so to me it is well worth the hassle to have this motor!!
I want to take it to the track bad. I still have to put on my driveshaft loop and netural safety switch and I should be able to run it. I don't have a cage in it (yet) so no NOS and hopefully I will have to lift so I don't get kicked out.

Is that cam a straight up lunati or a harold bring along? I had an UD hyd roller in my motor for a while, perhaps the meanest sounding motor in a normal car I've heard. I think when my SR cam gets into trouble I am going back hyd roller.
