I'm looking to install power windows on my 71 chevelle and was wondering if the Monte Carlo power window components were the same. If not, can someone tell me what other power window components interchange??? ie: LeMans, Skylark, GTO, Cutlass. I purchased some off of ebay several years ago and when I finally got around to doing the install, the parts didn't bolt up. This was a year or so after purchase so I got stuck for ~$400.00.

Do the regulators have any number stamping, etc. to be able to ensure that they will fit a Chevelle?

Also, is the Power window conversion a direct bolt-in?? Or do you have to drill holes (other than for wiring)?

When you are ready to install, I will lend you a piece that is the pattern for the holes you drill in the front door jams and doors. If you get the window set up.
Try to get the two rubber bellows that attach to the jams and to the doors (wiring harness runs inside this bellows) and the little plastic push pins that hold the bellows to the door. Also inside the left kick panel you will find the power window relay, It will be sitting on a shelf like piece of metal. Another item ,look behind the brake booster, This is where the power window circut breaker is mounted. Between booster and the left frt. fender on firewall. It will have two 8/32" nuts or a big push on plug.
When you get this mess all together and the relay from the kick pad is bad, When you get the new one from CHEVY Dlr. you will have to solder a wire from the relay mounting bracket to the top of the relay WHY? New relays are not grounded to the mounting base. You will think your new relay is bad. The Power window harness to the right side is routed between the windshield and the dash defroster ducts. If you can, get the power feed wire, It goes from the core support by the V. Reg. to the circut breaker on the firewall. If I can help just ask. Bob ACES--AACA
