I have 1966 chevelle with drum brakes, I would like to convert it to disc brakes , did any 66 chevelle have 4 piston calipers or were they all single piston ??

67 & 68 had 4-piston front disc brakes while 69 was the first year for single piston calipers. 66 models did not have disc brakes available, 67 was the first year.

No 66 Chevelles got disc brakes at all. The 4 piston disc's were an option in 67 and 68, then the single piston disc's were standard on 69 SS Chevelles. Your 66 can be converted to disc's but it wouldn't be correct.

Yes, power brakes was an option.

You should go to the brake forum and do a search for disc brake conversion.

The possibilities are almost endless.
I think a 12" disc upgrade is the best bang for the buck.
Stock Chevelle discs were 11" (which works with stock 14" disc brake type wheels).
Watchout though. Some wheels do not clear the calipers.
If you're using stock type 14" wheels, makes sure thay are disc brake compatible. Original 1966 Steel wheels would not be disc brake compatible.
If that's what you have now, you'll need to find some new wheels.
The 12" setup needs 15" wheels minimum.
