: Poly bushing confusion

I've searched the froums till my eyes are bleeding. I have the rear out of the car now. It is getting a gear setup. While it was out, I installed new upper bushings in the ears of the differential. They are Poly bushings that came with my Edelbrock adjustable uppers. Here is my setup;
SSM lowers, factory style springs and shocks, factory rear sway bar.
Edelbrock adjustable uppser with Johnny Joints in the forward (chassis/frame) location.
I used to have stock rubber bushings in the ears of the rear, but removed them yesterday and installed the Poly bushings that came with the Edelbrock set. Now I see a bunch of conflicting reports on suspension bind. This is a street/strip car, not a corner carving handling car at all though. What is the consensus here? Anybody have Edelbrock adjustable uppers with the Johhny joints and poly bushings in the ears?? Is this a problem?
No fighting please.:)

IMO, the poly bushings in the rear housing will be fine if used in conjunction with the Johnny joints on the other end of the Edelbrock UCA. This should help to avoid any binding.

Due to the competing and conflicting arcs that the upper arms must go through... I would prefer Johnny joints at all four points. Failing that rubber would be preferred over poly.

I wouldn't use poly anywhere on the upper links. It's not too bad on the lowers where the bind only occurs in roll, but in the uppers any movement of the axle requires the bushings to rotate around more than one axis, or in the case of straight up/down motion, a single axis parallel to the axle itself which conflicts with the splayed bushing centerlines.

Confused yet? :D

The spherical Johnny Joint on the frame-side of the uppers will eliminate half of the bind, but it's still going to be much more than stock due to the rigid arms and stiff bushings.

My Rear End set up is:
SSM Lowers in stock location
Edelbrock Adjustable Uppers
Poly Bushings in Rear End
Dick Miller Rear Springs
QA1 Shocks

It seems to work pretty good for me.
