Sorry for the rough pics. I scanned them into the computer and tried to touch up as best I could.
Glad I never took up photograghy as a profession. http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

My dad was a mechanic at a chevy dealership and I worked in the body shop as a general helper/cleanup/gofor boy.
My original goal was to own a 64-64 chevelle for my first car, and we looked at several, but none of the deals went through.
My 64-65 aspirations all changed one day when dad and the used car sales manager came driving up in this fresh trade in.
My first true love. :)

Pics are from circa 1986/7. Green was the original color, as seen here in these pics.

This is after my Dad and I replaced the quarters and repainted it black lacquer.
I must say, I havent seen many nicer black paint jobs then what my Dad put down on this car.

I don't normally like that body style but that one looks pretty nice.

I don't know as though I've ever seen one of those (that body style) on the road.

Swivel buckets, Dark Green paint (almost a dark blue-green as I recall). Not half bad for a first car. After 20 or so years I wonder if it is still around somewhere?

The '73SS is one of my favorites, especially in black. The '73-'77 GM A body cars were super popular - they were everywhere. Not just the Chevy, but the Oldsmobiles pontiacs and Buicks too. I think they were the first GM cars with radial tuned suspensions.

I saw an older guy having trouble trying to start his 73 in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Being the ex Boy Scout and Chevy lover that I am I got out and asked if I could help. It was sort of a rough car. When I got close enough to see over the fenders I about craped my pants. I said "That's a 454 isn't it?" He's like "yep, I ran into someone and had to replace the fenders with 350 Malibu ones". I was totally in shock, I never knew they even came with BB's until then. It wasn't an SS either. I helped him get it going and wished it was mine. Later Mac..............
