How do you check for proper push rod length...is it a universal method for most engines.

I cheated. I inked the stem end and looked at the pattern. Then I rounded up a .100" longer PR and checked it again. Lucky for me +.100" was very, very close. I'd say less than .010" or so. That's what I went with.
