I am installing a new OPG dash pad in my 68 and the front edge does not seem to want to lay flat against the dash. I was wondering what has been done to remedy this problem. I was thinking if some 3M VHB Very High Bond Tape.

Dave:
I've used VHB tape extensively...it's fantastic stuff. I've even used it on newer dash pads that have started to "curl" due to age. While it would probably help, I'd be interested to see other replies as I am sure there are plenty of guys here who've used OPG's dash pads. I'll be in the market for one myself and will stay tuned...

Tom, Well I just purchased some VHB tape and from what I have read it seems it should be up to the job. I can't believe what this stuff is used for!!! This stuff is very expensive!!! I will be trying it tomorrow and will report back. In terms of OPG dash pads or aftermarket dash pads in general, I would like to know if anyone makes one that fits correctly. I'm thinking about using the VHB to mount my tach to the steering column. It should look better then a clamp or drilling holes. Thanks for the reply.
