Someone was giving away a set of inner fenders on here if you go to Chevellebration. I think it may have been DZ auto.

Yes I was, and they are already spoken for. I replaced the plastic ones with steel simply because I prefer the steel ones.
I can't say that either plastic or steel fit any better than the other. After removing the plastic one and installing the steel one, I had to use a couple of thin screwdrivers and my son's 2 hands to get holes to line up and start a bolt. The J-nuts that are used for the bolts were all old and some of the nuts broke loose from their clip. Fortunately, I had several extra J-nuts that I have accumulated over the years. I had previously cleaned them up, lubed the threads with a good thin oil and ran bolts through the threads to assure they would not sieze up. The correct bolts have a pointed end to help the bolt get started into the nut without cross threading. When installing the new inners, I left all the bolts loose after getting 2-3 threads started until I had all bolts started, then adjusted the fender and tightened bolts as needed.
I would recommend getting several extra J-nuts, because if you are re-using the original ones, a few nuts are likely to pop off of the clip!!!!

I used opg steel on my 70 el camino, other than being poorly packaged that resulted in needing repaint, they fit well. Much better than their cargo box trim package.

I got a set of plastic inners from "the parts place" off of ebay, and they fit decently, not all holes lined up perfectly, but, what can you expect. Inner fenders is one of those things you really have to work with to get to fit anyway, since they don't really mount square to anything in any shape or form. What I did is just start putting in one bolt at a time, and only threading it in a couple threads. Do as many as you can like this, and then start tightening them down and some of them will begin to line up, and as said earlier, you will probably need a screwdriver to help line up a few holes. The nice thing about the plastic inners is that sure, there's a couple that just don't line up, but I didn't have any that were off so far you can't use the hole, they just needed a little bit of elongating with the dremel and a course sanding wheel. Also, a tip if I man, take a scotchbrite pad (like the ones used for scuffing panels for painting), and scuff the whole inner fender, they come too "shiny" and "fresh plastic looking", it gives it more of a factory look, not necessarily weathered looking, but just correct looking, not cheesy.

Are you bolting them to OEM fenders or Aftermarket? I had my share of issues getting Steel OEM fenderwells to line up on aftermarket fenders. I was wondering if i should have went aftermarket...LOL

I got goodmark inners and bolted them to my OEM originals fenders they bolted up "fair". I had to use the screwdrivers to align the holes quite a bit. The plastic ones, I had, were trashed.

I bought my metals from an OPG dealer, they fit pretty well, but not perfect.

I used OPG. I went to pick a set of plastics up and saw they were stacked a few feet high with no pertection between each one. That ment sratches on the new surface. I had them take at least 4 back till I found 2 that were decent. Than at least 1/3 of the bolt holes didn't line up, had to work with it.
