Is there any harm in chrome plating stainless steel line? Will this cause any seating problems at the flares? Stailess is pretty hard to begin with, and can be a pain to seat. I suspect plating the lines may make it worse. Worse doean't bother me, but flares failing to seal will bother me.

Why? If you want shiney just polish the stainless.

I agree.
Even if you decide to plate the lines, I wouldn't advise on plating the actual flare seal surface. The chrome will flake off on that area.

Because the lines are shielded in coils. I think if I try to polish out the coils, they are are just going to move all over the place. But I'm open to all suggestions.

Seth,

I have stainless steel lines all over my car. Some of those lines are with the armor also. I polished them all to a chrome like appearance and they look great...even around and through the armor. Just be careful when you hold them up against the polishing wheel. You'll know what I'm talkin about the first few times the wheel takes a line and wraps one around the shaft of the buffer. Apply gentle force against the wheel using two hands firmly grabbing the line on both sides of the buffing wheel. Make sure you use stainless polish and the appropriate wheel for polishing stainless steel. Don't chrome plate them. To get around the coiled lines, try to compress the coils one way or the other...it is not necessary though because you can get satisfactory results polishing right through them. I know because I did.
