I'm new to this forum. I was an original owner of 67 Malibu with 283. Regretfully,I sold the car when I went into the army. During the time I owned it, I had SS 396 envy. Now I'm thinking of acquiring one, but I know very little about restored vehicles. In checking out eBay, I found 2 recent auctions that caught my eye. The item numbers are:
130098871987
130101281585
Do the Buy It Now prices look like they were fair? Does anyone see any possible problems with the vehicle? And lastly, can you really tell the condition of a restored car on eBay or should you always see it up close and personal. Your advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Check this site out for great info. Do some searching.
The first one had some questionable things. Clock in the console and the dash? Chevelle emblem on the tail panel. Didn't show a 138 vin only a trim tag. The 2nd is advertised as a clone and looked to be a pretty nice one.
Good searching

NO., you can't. You should always have someone who knows that particular year/model check it out, DO NOT use BUY IT NOW for a car purchase.. it is a Buyer Beware market.. so BUYER.... BEWARE!!

Do your homework first, there is plenty of free information out there on the internet about real cars verse clone cars. Some sellers (like myself) use Buy It Now prices to eliminate people just calling to ask what the reserve prices are. These people usually start off the conversation by asking what the reserve price is before they even ask about the car.The way I figure it... if people are serious, and they see the price, they will call to discuss the cars condition, terms and price. I would never use a Buy it Now price without talking to the seller, and doing some research about the car and the seller. If the seller is selling on ebay look at his feedback and see if he/she has 100% feedback and has been a seller for a few years... Never email the seller outside of ebay unless you need just more photos. If you email sellers through ebay message service theres a record of it, and ebay can monitor this. Especially, if you have a complaint about a car the seller sold you.
Example: the seller (by ebay message email) tells you the car is numbers matching original motor... You buy the car and learned that it's not. Now you can file a complaint. Ebay is very good about protecting buyers from corrupt and misleading sellers...
Take care and good luck!
