This should be interesting.

Good for the good... not so good for the not-so-good.

The other links on the left side of the page describe it further.

What do you think?

There's a loop hole somewhere....

May be, but it sounds better than the current. Why dont they make it so the seller MUST leave feedback FIRST upon receiving prompt payment instead of waiting to hear what the buyer says... that PMO:mad:

I agree with you 100% on that.

I suggested to eBay that either the buyer or the seller should be issued a "default positive" after a period of time. I can't tell you how many times I have left feedback for a seller, and recieved nothing from them. When i sell an item, I give feedback as soon as I get paid. Likewise, I always give feedback to the seller as soon as I get the item in my hands.

I agree wholeheartedly with 65cayne! I won't give sellers feedback until they first leave it for me. If I have the part I want and in good shape, which really means more to me than anything, then it doesn't bother me if they don't give me feedback 'cuz I can wait until they do, but a bad part is a whole 'nother story. 64elkynss

I don't leave f/b unless I get it first.

For all you know the guy could be a real ass and leave you bad f/b after you left him good f/b just to be an ass.

Ditto, default for the Buyer as what else is expected as a buyer but prompt payment? Alot of Scheists holding on for retaliatory feedback. If the product was crap the buyer should be able to note this without fear of damaging someones perfect rep. Although there are exceptions for everything.

My feedback page looks the same as it always has and I've had three sales this month and a purchase.

I used to leave positive feedback as soon as I received payment. That changed about a year ago when someone tried to blackmail me on a twelve-dollar item (not a car part) for a positive feedback. The skumbag told me that she never received the item and wanted a full refund or would leave me my first negative feedback. She must not have noticed that the package had USPS delivery conformation, and that I knew it was delivered eight days earlier. The package magically appeared after I informed her of this.
I now offer a full refund minus all shipping costs and fees on everything that I sell, and inform them that by them leaving feedback lets me know that everything arrived safely and to there satisfaction. And only than is feedback is left by me. If I buy something, and I’m happy with my purchase, I leave feedback right away.

It could get real interesting, since the seller is unable to see who left what detailed feedback scores for them. Only a total average which is delayed by a month or so.

It would be posible for a somewhat disgruntled buyer to leave a positive (general) feedback score then, sort of secretively, trash the seller with the new detailed scoring.

Granted the "general" feedback scoring average is what will show prominantly next to the sellers name. However, this new detailed 5 star rating will certainly be looked at often as well.

The new system certainly creates more of a "safe/protected" opportunity for buyers to leave lower feedback. Hopefully it isn't too much of an opportunity for mis-use at the same time.

As a seller, I dont leave feed back until after the buyer... because in my opinion, the deal isnt complete until they say they are happy!

feedback doesn't really mean much on the buying end. you can hardly keep anyone from buying your item, you can cancel their bid, but not if it comes in late, as most do.
as a seller, unless someone has ridiculously bad FB, it probably won't influence you a lot either if they have something you want. and then if you do get a bunch of bad, you just start another account, and you can get 10-12 good ones in a month from buying used CD's or something. it doesn't really matter.

The FILTER by item feature sounds good.

As a buyer I have spent a fair amount of time trying to see what others have said about a particular item that a seller sells all the time. Under the current system finding that out is very tedious.

I notice it's back to the old "member profile" page again. At least for today. Maybe a glitch in the new system popped up.

Just when I was getting used to clicking 6 times for each transaction ;)

It has been easier to get info (previous buyer feedback) about an item I'm interested in from a seller who sells that item regularly.
