I am looking for a dual plane to replace the Edelbrock Torker II that I'm running. I saw on Ebay a company is selling polished BB manifolds w/square bore carb adapter for 155.00
I believe it was called a Power Performance Manifold. If you search for Chevy Intake Manifolds it will be on the first page.
Is this just an import knock off of an Edelbrock or Holley manifold?
Anyone have a dual plane, possibly one of the new air gap ones they would like to trade for a single plane and some cash?
I have a street only car and would like to have more power under 2500 rpms.
thanks

Don't buy. Those are made in China! Go with a e-brock or holley.

What cam do you have?
What is the compression?
What gear?
How much stall?

roughly 8:1 compression, unknown Crane Cam, and as far as I know a 2.73 in 10 bolt rear gear with a stock torque converter.
I can't afford a new rear end and can't change gears myself. I might be able to accomplish a torque converter swap with minimal coaching/advise.
I'd like to swap out my intake manifold w/a dual plane based on the info I've gotten from reading threads here @ chevelles.com.
Also, I am probably going to change out my carb. It is a 4160, Holley vac. secondary 750cfm manual choke. I would like an Edelbrock 750 cfm just so I don't have to retune it every time the temperature changes 15 degrees. I'm not concerned with the top end power loss that may come with it if I can stomp the pedal from the line and not have my engine bog down sputter and try to stall.
sorry for the rant, any help or part swapping is welcome. I'm just not great at tuning carberators I guess.

You have a 273 gear. You want more torque below 2500 and a reliable carb.
This sounds like a job for a Quadrajet and a Performer Quadrajet intake.Don't be put off by the Quadrajet carb. They were made for applications just like what you describe and will probably return the best performance for you.Just be sure to get a 750cfm unit.
Unknown cam???
It could be that someone has installed something that is simply too much for your compression.I would suggest getting a different cam and keeping the cam card so you know what you have.
A cam with about 214 Duration at .050 would probably work well.
Make sure if you have headers that you have the 1 3/4 inch variety. The 1 7/8 and larger headers will not work well for you. They will kill your low end torque.
They are made for engines with BIG cams and higher RPM's.
