I read the earlier post about the merits of the Megashifter. Does anyone have experience mounting one of these on a stock (71)Chevelle console? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

what you are going to have to do is cut a peice of either sheet metal or plastic that matches the underside bolt pattern of the opening in your console. You will have to drill the holes and trim it to fit. Then you will cut an opening in the plate big enough for the shifter boot on the B&M to fit snugly. Trim to fit, paint it black and you will have a very clean installation of a B&M Megashifter in a factory console.

I've seen this done. And if done right it looks excellent.
