Before I spend time cleaning my booster and bolting it all back up how do I check it to make sure it is working properly?
Thanks
Chris

Did you ever do a booster test when it was on?

The car was a roller, the brake lines were cut, and the MC was drained down I didn't think I could do any kind of test in that cond.

Well, you can always rebuild it if you don't trust it, pretty easy to do too

You need to see if the case will hold vacuum. If you have a suction tool ;) you can use it to pull about 15"Hg on the orifice. The system should hold and not leak. When you pop the connector off of the orifice, you will hear the pressure equalize.

You can even use another car's motor, but you will have to use the correct check valve (the 90 degree plug). It will allow the booster to hold what vacuum it has when the motor shuts off. This helps when braking after ging full throttle.

I guess you coul even use a screw driver make like it's the brake pedal lever. Maybe you can "feel" thing working easier when under vacuum?

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
