Here is the ad:

"Parts only, I have left overs from several 1965 Chevelles I have owned. Front fenders, passenger side door, 283 engine(dissassembled) powerglide tranny, core support, misc trim, emblems, etc. All for free if you take all of it."

I asked him how many fenders he had and if they were rust free. I told him I would probably take everything except for the engine and trans. What do you guys think? Could I turn this around and make a profit? Is it worth my time?

Also, if the fenders are from 4 doors, should I not do it? I dont think they interchange do they? The passenger side door either? I suppose I should ask.

all 65 fenders interchange

pass on the 283

get everything else. It's all saleable. Even rusted fenders. There's no reproduction fenders to my knowledge. They make patch panels for them.
Door is worth some good coin too !

hey, if you must take everything, just drop the engine off at your favorite machine shop. I'm sure they'd like to have it for free and you'll feel good that it didn't go to scrap. Might earn you some bonus points for work you need at a later date !!

heck, if your thinking about it, someone else probably already grabbed it. If they arent car nuts, they took it down to the metal recyclers for beer money. Jim

Im going to pick up the fenders tommorrow. He has 1 left hand side and 1 right hand side. He said one is malibu, one chevelle. Seems to me they are the same. He made it sounds like he had lots of fenders, but just two. He has misc. trim. I guess we will see. Its and hour drive there and back. I hope its worth my time and gas. So final call, should I pick up the trans and motor? Is it worth my time. I live in a pretty rural area, so stuff would have to shipped. Pretty rare that stuff would get picked up.

Ok got an update.

Picked up a left and right hand fender, a door with good glass (all rust free) a bunch of emblems and trim, set of tailights, rear view and side mirror, stock steering wheel with center horn setup, arm rests, window cranks and door handles, headlight bezel/trim rings, front inner fender wheel well, plastic reverse light covers, and a cigarette ash tray. Pretty sure all of it is from a 65. Anyway, let me know if you guys want something, its going on ebay today.

OPGI sells repops for $350 each. Don`t know about the quality.

The fenders should`nt say anything if they are for a 65. 64`s said chevelle on them I think but 5`s only had the flags and engine number. Post some pics of what you got.

Here are all the ads if you are interested in pics. One fender is a malibu and sais nothing, the other has the flag and engine number. Pretty good shape. Bidding just started yesterday and I have already made about $175. Going well so far!

You are a noble dude for giving all of this away. Very respectable, and I hope a few folks get their rides back together due to your generosity.:)

They are either letters from the hood or trunk of a 64-65. It's very hard to tell without seeing them on a car.

I Was looking at your auction and saw the misc. trim. if you got some headliner trim for 64-65 it`s very hard to find and harder to find it in good shape. I sold my last set for $200 and it needed some polishing and minor dent removal.

Well guys guess what....

I put everything on eBay. Ended up making $780. I guess I undersestimated the market. Overall, pretty easy money for free car parts. I still have a bunch of parts I will be taking to the car show and giving away to the 65 guys.
