I am rebuilding my front end and I am replacing the rubber bushings. The trouble I am runing into is that the bushing does not want to go in strait enough to hit the second hole. I tried putting the bushing in the frezzer to alow me to drop it in father to reach the other hole, and no go. I am still thinking but could use some ideas. Thanks.

I just replaced mine and I'm sure it wasn't the proper way to do it but, I just used a hammer and a large socket that went around the rubber and contacted on the metal. When mine got off center I just tapped that side of the socket to bring it back inline. Like I said, I'm sure it's not the expert way to do it but, effective none the less. The freezer did help out. I put mine in the freezer on Friday night and put them in when I got back to work on Monday.

Thanks for the reply. I am adding that the car is a 1969 Chevelle SS.

Same as mine. Good luck with it... This site has a wealth of information!

Put a socket between the 2 sides of the control arm to keep it from collapsing and use a ball joint press. Also helps to de-burr the holes

I did the same thing - beat it with a socket in the direction it needs to go.
