Where are you guys getting your belt? I need a 1778mm x 14mm (cog) x 55mm wide. I don't want a Kevlar and that's all Gates / Procharger offers. They are well in the $200 range. I want a rubber one that I can run on the street. The Kevlar are race only :mad:

Why would you want a lower quality belt anyway ?

Well, they claim you can't run the Kevlar on the street and I'm building it as a part time cruiser. Can you run the Kevlar on the street?

I have not heard that kevlar should not be run on the street. However, according to McMaster these are polyester cord, interchangeable with HTD/Power Grip GT/HPPD(High performance power drive). I have not had this car on the street much yet, but belt seems to work & looks really stout. I really don't see why Kevlar won't work. on snowmobiles only kevlar will hold up.
