Hey guys, I just picked up a bare set of Dart Pro 1's and am getting ready to assemble... just have a couple of questions:
1. The holes for the intake rocker studs are drilled all the way down into the runner. What should I use on these threads - loctite, anti-sieze, pipe sealant, or something else? How about for other fasteners like header and valve cover bolts - is anti-sieze a good idea?
2. Secondly, spring cups - yes or no?
Thanks in advance!!!

I FELT BETTER USING SPRING CUPS JUST HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT INSTALLED HEIGHT,IF CUPS DO CHANGE YOUR INSTALLED HEIGHT AND SEAT PRESSURE(AND THEY WILL) YOU CAN USE DIFFERENT DEGREE LOCKS...

Jim,
I would go with thread sealer on the rocker studs.
Shouldn't need loctite on the valve cover bolts.
Headers: I don't use them.

Light coat of oil on header/valve cover. DEFINITELY thread sealant on all rocker studs. I'd use the loctite brand thread sealant on them.

1 The studs have to be sealed or you will pull oil into the runners. I use Hylomar (be sure to let it set before installing the studs) but good old permatex non hardening sealer will work. I do not use the white Teflon ARP type sealer on anything but pipe threads. Had way too many leaks with it.
Yes, it is a good idea to use antisieze on any bolt that goes into your heads.
2 Absolutely use spring cups or locators on aluminum heads. If you don't you will destroy the spring seats

Anti-sieze on the header bolts for sure AND also on the spark plug threads (lightly)!
