'64 does not show a junction block. If you peel the tape back far enough, right befoe it goes into the main harness. This is on a 69. Not sure if 66 had it. Rick.. I don't know what would happen if you were to exceed that length. ------------------ Team Chevelle Gold #33 ACES Member #02913 Chevelle Club of Michigan Livonia, Michigan ehjorten Oct 4th, 99, 12:20 PM The general rule of thumb you can follow is to use 4 wire-gauge sizes smaller than the wire you are using it on (i.e. 14ga wire uses an 18ga fusible link). You can buy these at your local auto-parts store. I have found on some vehicles that the fusible link was changed to an actual in-line fuse that is wrapped in the harness, from the factory. Kevin Long Oct 5th, 99, 4:48 PM I've used fuse wire in place of the links in my starter harness (they were almost totally deteoriated), but I used the same size fuse wire as the size wire I replaced. This at the recommendation of a very experienced mechanic. Fred Aldrich Oct 5th, 99, 5:24 PM EH is correct, fusible links in GM cars are always 4 gauge numbers smaller than the wire their protecting. Wire Link 10Ga 14Ga 12Ga 16Ga 14Ga 18Ga 16Ga 20Ga Etc. Fusible links are really just standard copper wire with low flamibility insulation (silicon over XLPE). However, their not totally flame proof and can start fires. If I'm not mistaken, excessive length increases the fire hazard. Modern designs have eliminated fusible links in favor of Maxi-fuses.
