Just bought a 1970 Chevelle Malibu. It has the wrong engine in it, a 68 Camaro 327. But the radiator is a big block radiator, not a small block. I have the build sheet but cannot read the engine code on it. Maybe someone can de-code some of the build sheet numbers???
Front spring AJ
Rear Spring BE
Exhaust GF
Trans GP
Air Cleaner CF
Radiator VB68
Engine might be NF or NP
Does anyone know what engine came in this car???
Thanks:thumbsup:

NF = 307 engine
I dont' see an NP code
big rad may mean an A/C car but rad's are easily changed over the years so I would not put my stake in that being oem.

Post some pictures of it. Also, does anything else appear to be SS? Dash, rearend, control arms etc?

Thanks for the info, I guess my wishful thinking didn't pan out. I have a 307 Malibu with a big block radiator and that's all there is to it! If they could only talk??? Karl

Definately nothing to get down about! Be glad you have a Chevelle and make it whatever you want. It's your car!
