Hi: I installed a NEW Ground Up Proportioning Valve along with a complete Disc Brake set-up on the front of my 66 SS. After 200 miles the Valve completely leaks all fluid out of my Master Cyl in no time. The area leaking is in the very front of the valve towards the radiator where alittle nut and pin sticks out..How can that be-I thought that was for an electrical connection? Actually what is that for...??? Time for another valve..??

I think your valve must be bad.

Is this an MBM PV2 prop valve? Just a guess as it's a really common aftermarket unit.

If so, it sounds like it's leaking from the metering valve. It's not an electrical connection, it's the valve that balances the pressure for the front brakes. Read their tech article http://www.mbmbrakeboosters.com/tech.pdf
I installed mine a couple weeks ago and finally pressurized the brake system, and it leaked from the same spot. I returned it to the store I bought it from and they exchanged it no problem. Call up whoever you got the kit from and get a new unit.

Kent J--Thanks alot for the info. You are right-It was leaking at the metering valve under pressure. It was brand new at that. Ground Up our Team Chevelle sponsers glady returned it no questions asked. Ken and Tom the owners are great to work with. Just got done installing the new valve and it doesn't leak at all. It's an aftermarket valve but if it works-That's fine..!!
