I'm looking into a new dual exhaust for my '71 Malibu. The engine is a stock 350 with an edelbrock performer EPM intake and 650 CFM carb and TH350 trans. I am also running with Hooker Headers, 1 5/8" primaries and 3" collectors. Which dual exhaust kit is recommended? I was looking into the Flowmaster American Thunder system, has anyone had success with it? The car will be a weekend cruiser, but I want a good sound and better mileage on the road.

How loud do you want it? If you want a good low rumble go with Dynomax super turbos or ultra flows.

I used that system and it worked fine on my 70 chevelle. I bought it without the mufflers and used a set of dynomax super turbo mufflers. They are pretty quiet (compared to the flows) and still provide good performance.
