Well...Looks like the 496 is gonna have to wait so I am gonna just build the 454 shortblock I just scored today. Casting numbers on it are 14015445. It has the flat tops with dished circle/one valve relief. So from a seach looks like this is a 8 to 1 motor. So I am picked up some closed chamber 063's that have been ported with 2.19/1.88's. Hoping for a little over 9 to 1. Flow numbers on the heads are the flowing:

int-
500-278
550-286
600-293
650-294

exh-
500-180
550-189
600-199
650-207

So as some of you know this is going in my Jeep that runs rocks/mud drags/sand dunes-drags. For the rest of the combo here is what I was thinking...

800 Q jet
RPM manifold
Comp 270 or comp 280 hyd flat......224 at .050 or...230 at .050
1 3/4" headers
2.5" duals to 3.5" single exhaust...Hooker aerochamber
Proform HEI
1.7 roller rockers
TH400...13" ATI Hi stall....2000 rpm

What kind of power do you guys think will make??? Hoping for 425/500???
Any other other cam recommendation?? Thanks!

Man...I did not think that with those cams it would peak at 6000rpm! Wonder why to torque is so low??? Either way around 480HP for cheap is pretty good.
