I'm re-using a center console I got used. I'll be removing the chrome trim, etc and re-painting it, the putting the trim back on after. It currently has the seat belt pockets, should I put them back on?

1-How do these hold the seatbelt? Any pics? I can't picture it
2-Should I paint them too and re-install them afterward
3-other than as a sunglasses holder or the like, are they actually used for seatbelts?

It's not a numbers matching resto. Added the floor shift and console to a bench car with buckets, so it's not a matter of being "correct". I haven't used them for anything other than a sunglasses holder and don't care either way. What does everyone else think?

Bryan they were used to store the buckle end of the belt when not in use. It keeps the belt from falling down between the seat and console. I never though of using them to hold sun glasses, that is a great idea

Thanks. Anyone have a good pic of them in use? I have non-original seats, so I can't picture how they're used. My seat belts have no chance of making it there. I do have a set of correct buckets that I'll be re-doing eventually, though.

I did otherwise strip and re-paint the console. Looks good for a almost free used piece. Just need some parts to show up to finish it.

They hold both the lap belt buckle and shoulder buckle hence the need for 2 pockets. the ends just fit in face down. Also used to be great for holding a pack of smokes, although I don't need them for that anymore.

Thanks guys. Redman-looks like the color I had, it's black now.

At this point, I'm going to wait on putting them back on, but they'll go on sometime.
