i have a 69 ss 396 velle.i took everyones advice and took it to the track. 1/8 mile is all i have close, so these are the #s. 660= 8.513 reaction=1.268 mph=83.96.i ran two other passes last wednesday night at thunderbird,MUSK mi.the others were about the same. my question here is,about how much hp does it have.this car is not completely done yet,but i'm driving it anyway graemlins/clonk.gif 2 years and 4 months to this point, and still no hood[won't clear intake] yet.NO i am not cutting the hood...i have 31;000 in it now, what's a few more? actually i about @#$%$# when i thinkabout it.enough about that. my car title says 3230 weight category,i dont know for sure .around 3500???.motor 408BBC,29.5/11.5 hoosier quick time pro's, 331 eaton 12 bolt,TCI streetfighter 700r4,TCI breakaway 2800 stall headman elite 1-7/8 headers.im just trying to get a close guess on hp. i;ll always kick myself for no dyno numbers.

my guess would be somewhere around 350-375hp to the flywheel, maybe around 300hp to the tires.

That is pretty good, ~ 13.36 e.t./105.78 mph 1/4 mile equivelent.

You really need to get your car weighed - there should be a moving company, truckyard, scrap metal recycler, or other public scale in your area.

It would take about 400 flywheel hp to to mph an auto trans 3,500 lb car like that. Something in the low 300 rear wheel hp.
